Two Mainers arrested in Fort Fairfield drug bust

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (WGME) — Police say a report about a burglary led to a drug bust and two arrests in Fort Fairfield on Friday.Police say they got a report about a burglary involving a contractor’s service truck parked in a driveway on Elm Street.The suspects had already fled before police arrived. Police say they used a K-9 to follow a scent trail that led officers to a home on Columbia Avenue, which was near the burglary location.Police say they then searched the home and found approximately 7.8 grams of fentanyl and a handgun along with other evidence of drug trafficking.Police then arrested 33-year-old Timothy Philbrick of Fort Fairfield and 23-year-old Mariah McEwen of Fort Fairfield. The pair were both charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, unlawful furnishing of schedule W drugs, unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.They were taken to the Aroostook County Jail. Philbrick’s bail was set at $2,500 cash. McEwen was released on $500 cash bail.Police say additional charges related to the burglary are pending.
